Ceres – Goddess of Agriculture
Our newest bust is Ceres the goddess of agriculture; hence she carries vines in her hair. This is a classical style bust. Her serene features make her a wonderful addition to any room. Our unique technique for reconstituting marble really shines through on this piece.
Ceres was the Roman goddess of agriculture, grain, and the love a mother bears for her child. She was the daughter of Saturn and Ops, the sister of Jupiter, and the mother of Proserpine. Ceres was a kind and benevolent goddess to the Romans and they had a common expression, "fit for Ceres," which meant splendid.
The pieces measures 25 cm high and weighs approximately 2.1Kg.
